Lie #1. You need luck on your side in order to be successful.
No, you don’t. There is no such thing as luck. You need intention and willingness. You need preparation and opportunity. All of this, you can create and achieve for yourself without the illusion of luck.
Lie #2. You need to be young to pursue your dreams.
There is no age limit for pursuing your dreams. The wisdom you gain over the years helps you pursue your dreams better, faster and smarter. Youth is overrated and the value of experience way under-rated.
Lie #3. You need others to help you because you can’t do it on your own.
There is a lot to learn and gain from supporters and mentors. And it pays to hang out with the right influencers and enjoy the right circle of friends. But you can absolutely do anything you set your mind to, with and sometimes without the support of others.
Lie #4. You need to sacrifice your whole life to achieve your goals.
That’s not true. You need to work hard at the beginning of every new pursuit but then it gets easier and better, and you get better at it too. Successful people have a life, hobbies, fun as well as a life of pursuits and accomplishments.
