Response-Ability
Often times we’ve heard in the business and relationship worlds about responsibility. I like to take that word and alter its meaning. What is your true Response Ability? How do you react to things happening all around you on a daily basis?
In most cases, especially in the business world I find people’s Response Ability completely lacking. Their response is often tied to one of the four primary emotions without any heed to logic. In case you’re wondering, psychology tells us there are four primary emotions. You are either glad, sad, mad or scared. Think about that in terms of your next business response. How are you feeling right before you open your big mouth?
Consider that before you respond. I sometimes have the problem of opening my mouth and speaking my mind at that moment. The issue is that may not really be my stance on the subject. I may feel completely different about it, but I responded with pure emotion instead of emotional intelligence.
